    Criticism over polyethylene microbeads

Environmental criticism focused on polyethylene microbeads in Advantage 3 in 1 Facial Scrub, Blackhead Eraser Scrub, and Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub. Advocates raised concerns about the persistence of these particles in waterways and possible effects on marine life. Johnson & Johnson began phasing out polyethylene microbeads in 2013 and later promised to remove them from its products by the end of 2015.
