Allegations of PRC funding and editorial influence
In November 2019, Wang Liqiang, a self-described PRC intelligence operative, alleged that CTV had received funding from the People's Republic of China in exchange for broadcasting reports unfavorable to Taiwan's government. The Want Want China Times Group denied the allegations, and espionage experts questioned the reliability and motivation behind the claims.
