DeTeAsia arbitration dispute
An arbitration panel in Switzerland held Celcom liable for infringement of an agreement with DeTeAsia, a Deutsche Telekom subsidiary. The award included US$177.2 million in principal, US$16.2 million in interest and further legal and arbitration costs. The dispute also prompted Telekom Malaysia to seek recovery from former owners.
