Weevil infestation disclosure controversy
After weevils were found in wheat at the Cascade Oatmeal mill, company managers initially withheld information while attempting to protect product prices and insurance arrangements. They later attributed the infestation to wheat shipped from San Francisco and stated that local product was unaffected.
