Source excerpt
The U.S. Treasury has reached a settlement agreement with drilling equipment maker Cameron International over apparent violations of U.S. sanctions on Russia's Arctic offshore oil industry.
In total, Cameron Romania made 111 shipments of E&P equipment to Gazprom-Neft Shelf for use at Prirazlomnaya, helping the facility achieve its current production of about seven million barrels of oil per year.
After weighing the severity of the infraction, OFAC decided to settle with Schlumberger for $1,400,000, the minimum civil penalty amount.

Deepwater Horizon blowout-preventer failure
Cameron manufactured and sold the blowout preventer used on Transocean's Deepwater Horizon rig. The equipment failed to close the well during the 2010 Gulf of Mexico blowout. Reporting also examined maintenance and operational factors, and Cameron later reached a settlement with BP without admitting responsibility.
