Dispute over competing internet-service providers
Homeowner associations in Camella Cerritos Heights and Lessandra Heights in Bacoor, Cavite protested obstacles preventing or delaying competing internet providers from installing infrastructure. The complaint involved right-of-way and permitting issues and the availability of Planet Cable, a related provider later known as Streamtech. The matter was raised with the National Telecommunications Commission and referred to the Philippine Competition Commission. In May, armed security guards blocked Globe Telecom personnel installing cables. Camella later issued policies clarifying procedures for admitting other providers.
