Regulatory sanctions and non-renewal of the DTT frequency
C8’s repeated regulatory disputes, particularly those connected with Touche pas à mon poste !, contributed to Arcom’s decision not to renew the channel’s national digital terrestrial authorization. The regulator cited failures concerning pluralism, control of the antenna, advertising obligations, schedule diversity and the channel’s response to requests to change the programme’s live-broadcast practices.

Controversy over the broadcast of Unplanned
C8’s broadcast of the 2019 American film Unplanned on 15 August 2021 drew criticism because of the film’s explicitly anti-abortion perspective. The film was later used as C8’s final programme before its terrestrial service ended.
