Staff Posed as Patients in False Ads; Fines Over Illegal Medical Advertising; Dental Implant Disputes Frequent

Shanghai Bybo Baier Dental Hospital used employees posing as patients to film promotional advertisements and was determined by regulators to have published false medical advertising, and was fined RMB 200,000; Shenzhen Taikang Bybo Dental Clinic was fined for illegal medical advertising, and Ningbo Jiangbei Taikang Bybo Dental Hospital was warned and fined for noncompliant radiation diagnosis and treatment protection. In 2024, Guangming Online reported that a patient's dental implant at Bybo Dental broke three times in three years, and that disputes after implant surgery are common and rights protection difficult; Beijing Taikang Bybo was also reported to be involved in a medical surgery accident and faced a compensation claim. Multiple fines were imposed; the institutions involved agreed to refund all treatment fees for the dental implant patient.
