Public criticism of management, policies, and expansion
During an impromptu October 2020 visit, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah expressed concern over insufficient and inconsistent policies, management shortcomings, faculty and infrastructure suitability, and the institution's association with Hengyi Industries. He called for cautious, quality-focused expansion and questioned whether PB was adequately preparing local talent for the industrial workforce.
