Kroll investigation and surveillance allegations
Brasil Telecom and Opportunity hired Kroll to investigate whether Telecom Italia had competed with Brasil Telecom during its acquisition of Companhia Riograndense de Telecomunicações from Telefónica. The investigation became part of the wider struggle for control of Brasil Telecom, and Kroll was accused of spying on Brazilian government officials.
