Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
John Wilkes Booth, a member of the theatrical family and a Confederate sympathizer, shot President Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theatre. Lincoln died the following day, and Booth was killed twelve days afterward during the pursuit.
