FTC complaint over cream-can shipping instructions
The FTC alleged that Blue Valley attached permanent shipping plates or tags to farmer-owned cans instructing carriers to send full containers to Blue Valley. The agency said the practice could divert cream intended for competitors and make redirection difficult. Following a stipulation, the FTC ordered the company to stop using such instructions on containers it did not own without the owner's consent.
