Forced labor at the Hamburg-Steinwerder shipyard

A subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp operated at the Blohm+Voss shipyard from July 1944 until April 1945. Prisoners, including foreign women, were forced to work at the site during the final phase of the Second World War. A memorial exists at the former camp location, and the company has contributed an undisclosed amount to a compensation fund for forced laborers.
