  1. Biodynamic agriculture and Nazi-era institutions

The history of biodynamics and Demeter-related organizations includes documented connections with parts of Nazi agricultural policy. Biodynamic plantations operated at concentration camps including Dachau and Ravensbrück, using prisoners as laborers. At the same time, the Nazi regime dissolved or restricted anthroposophical organizations and ultimately banned Demeter in the German Reich. This contradictory history remains a major issue in assessing the movement’s institutional past.
