Infant-formula plant production deficiencies reported by market regulator
In 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation reported production deficiencies at infant-formula enterprises of five brands including Dumex and Beingmate; Beingmate's Heilongjiang factory was ordered to rectify problems in the procurement and acceptance of DHA algal-oil powder, inspection records, and inspection capability. In 2016, its Hangzhou factory had also been ordered to rectify deficiencies in clean zones, raw-material storage, and inspection capability. In 2012, Beingmate rice cereal was pulled from shelves for improperly adding pork-bone powder. The company was ordered to rectify within a deadline; in 2024, its e-commerce subsidiary was fined 20,000 yuan for unlawfully claiming health benefits for food.
