    Former Beijing Enterprises Group chairman Wang Dong sentenced to 11 years for bribery and embezzlement

    Wang Dong, former Party secretary and chairman of Beijing Enterprises Group, was placed under lien by the Beijing Municipal Supervisory Commission in August 2019. The court found that he accepted bribes equivalent to more than 11.95 million yuan, including by buying four apartments at low prices, and together with others illegally took 1.42 million yuan in furniture payments paid by Beijing Enterprises Holdings. In 2020, the first-instance court sentenced him to 11 years in prison for bribery and embezzlement and fined him 1.2 million yuan.
