Hudson's Hope residents say B.C. Hydro poorly managed properties acquired for Site C
Issue disclosure
Residents of Hudson's Hope, B.C. said B.C. Hydro refused to sell or allow salvage of structures from properties purchased or expropriated for the Site C dam project, and that vacant homes and grounds were not well maintained. B.C. Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer acknowledged community concern and said some homes deteriorated before demolition. He added that nine additional acquired properties were set for demolition that fall, and that the utility had sold items and buildings from demolished properties in the past and would do so again where safe and practical.
