Collapse of Barings Bank
The historical Barings Bank collapsed after unauthorized derivatives trading by Nick Leeson in Singapore. The scandal and failure concerned the predecessor banking organization and should be distinguished from the current Barings LLC, which was formed from investment-management businesses in 2016.
