European state-aid ruling concerning the Tercas rescue
The European Commission ruled that the intervention by Italy's interbank deposit-guarantee fund in support of Banca Tercas constituted state aid and required the support to be returned. The decision led to a voluntary intervention mechanism through which participating banks provided further capital support.
