Aveo resident-contract class action
A class action alleged that Aveo resident contracts involved unconscionable and misleading conduct. Aveo contested the allegations. The case attracted further controversy over advertising and the conduct of the plaintiff-side legal representatives, including court-ordered removal of promotional material and later criticism by Federal Court Justice Bernard Murphy. The proceeding settled in March 2023 for $11 million without an admission of liability by Aveo.
