Forestry sourcing and FSC certification controversy
Australian Paper's timber sourcing became controversial because its Victorian Government supply arrangement could include mountain ash timber from forests regarded as having high conservation value. The company withdrew from FSC certification in 2011 in connection with its use of timber from VicForests-managed old-growth logging, although later reporting indicated that FSC certification remained for products other than Reflex paper.
