Cartier watches and Christine Holgate’s departure

Australia Post faced political and Senate scrutiny after four Cartier watches, reportedly worth A$20,000 in total, were purchased for senior executives in 2018. Chief executive Christine Holgate was stood down and subsequently left the organisation. A later independent review reported that Holgate had not done anything wrong personally, although the matter continued to raise questions about governance, executive rewards and ministerial intervention.
