Canadian allegations concerning AIIB governance
A former Canadian executive publicly alleged that AIIB was dominated by the Chinese Communist Party and that staff independence was compromised. Canada launched a review, suspended its activities with the bank and later announced withdrawal. AIIB rejected the allegations, disputed the characterization of its governance and stated that the Canadian review did not establish wrongdoing by the institution.
