Borrowed-name payroll and production-cost embezzlement investigation
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission investigated claims that a former chief producer underpaid workers and redirected money into bank accounts held in other names. The investigation reported that fictitious or nominal employees were used in payroll arrangements. Two senior Arirang officials were subsequently sentenced to prison for embezzlement.
