NeverSeconds school-lunch blog controversy
The council barred nine-year-old Martha Payne from photographing her school meals for the NeverSeconds blog. The blog had attracted substantial attention, including support from Jamie Oliver, and had raised money for charity. After the council initially defended its position, council leader Roddy McCuish overturned the ban. The episode generated national and international criticism of the authority's communications and handling of a child-led online project.
