Controversy involving Federico Musto’s credentials and open-source materials
Wired reported that academic degrees attributed to Federico Musto were not confirmed by the named universities and that Musto acknowledged he had not earned them. Later reports about removing open-source materials from the Arduino website generated additional community criticism.

Arduino trademark and corporate dispute
A dispute between Arduino LLC and Arduino SRL concerned trademark registrations, royalty payments, website branding, and control of the Arduino organization. Arduino LLC filed litigation in January 2015; the organizations later announced a merger in 2016.
