Alleged virtual-sales accounting scheme
During Archway's ownership by Catterton Partners and management involvement by Insight Holdings, litigation alleged that the company recorded nonexistent “virtual sales” to meet financial targets and obtain cash under its bank financing arrangements. Lawsuits named the company, investment firms, and various current and former executives. The allegations arose during a period of falling sales and preceded the company's bankruptcy.
