Investor class-action settlement
Applied Micro Circuits Corporation agreed to a $60 million settlement of an investor class-action lawsuit concerning allegations that the company had made materially false or misleading statements about its operations and prospects for the fourth quarter of 2001 and subsequent periods. The company and the other defendants denied wrongdoing, and insurance covered approximately half of the settlement.
