Suspected contamination and recall
Complaints about contaminants in two-litre Apple Sidra bottles resulted in a recall of approximately 1.2 million bottles. Oceanic Beverages suspected a sterilization failure and identified approximately 80,000 bottles produced between July 4 and July 18, 2018, as potentially affected.

Food-safety violations and fines
Oceanic Beverages was fined NT$1,000,000 in November and NT$1,200,000 in December for separate contamination-related violations involving Apple Sidra products under Taiwan's food-safety legislation.
