Controversy over books denying or disputing wartime historical accounts
APA properties were reported to stock books written by group chairman Toshio Motoya that questioned or denied established accounts of the Nanjing Massacre and the wartime comfort-women system. The issue prompted criticism in China, South Korea, and elsewhere. Chinese authorities and travel platforms temporarily restricted or removed APA Hotel booking access. APA Group defended the books as the author's personal views and did not agree to remove them.
