Sound of Freedom attracted scrutiny because of media coverage linking its star and some supporters with the QAnon conspiracy theory, as well as public examination of Tim Ballard, whose activities inspired the story. Director Alejandro Monteverde disputed characterizations of the film as a QAnon project.
