Front Royal environmental violations
The Front Royal facility, then operated by successor Avtex Fibers, was cited for more than 2,000 environmental violations over five years. The allegations included PCB emissions into the nearby Shenandoah River. The plant closed in 1989, was demolished in 1997, and became the subject of a long-term cleanup effort involving FMC and the EPA.
