Medicare reimbursement and Stark Law settlement
Amedisys agreed to a $150 million settlement with the United States Department of Justice concerning Medicare reimbursement practices at certain care centers and a Stark Law issue involving compensation associated with a physician group. The settlement also addressed seven whistleblower lawsuits. Amedisys had voluntarily disclosed the physician-compensation matter.
