Traveler-profiling data-protection fine
Spain’s data-protection authority fined Amadeus €18 million over a traveler-profiling project, alleging that the company did not meet its obligation to inform data subjects about relevant processing under Article 14 of the GDPR. Amadeus reportedly paid €14.4 million and appealed the decision.

Airline booking-system security vulnerability
In January 2019, researcher and activist Noam Rotem reported a vulnerability encountered while booking a flight with El Al. The reported issue could permit access to and modification of private booking information, and subsequent reporting suggested that the exposure could affect a significant proportion of international airline traffic.
