History
The history of aluminium in Germany began with the Aluminium Rheinfelden Group. The first run-of-river power station in Europe led to the founding of the first aluminium smelter on German soil in 1898 in Rheinfelden, Baden. Since 16.04.2021, Alu Rheinfelden is part of UC RUSAL, the largest producer of low-carbon aluminium.
