Allegations of unlawful killings and other abuses

In the early 2000s, Alfa 5 employees were accused of unlawful killings involving protesters, striking miners, and garimpeiros in places including Luremo and Cuango. Allegations also claimed that personnel used connections to military leaders on the company's board to avoid accountability. General Director Francisco Borges Guerra said operations were decentralised, denied that company leadership had issued such orders, and acknowledged that individual cases could harm Alfa 5's reputation.
