Former AECC chairman Cao Jianguo loses CPPCC seat and is removed from CAE academician list after stepping down

Cao Jianguo, former Party secretary and chairman of Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), stepped down in May 2025. His membership in the CPPCC National Committee was later revoked; in December 2025, The Paper noticed that Cao Jianguo's name was no longer on the Chinese Academy of Engineering's website list of academicians. Impact and handling: such changes are usually seen as a signal that the person concerned has encountered problems, drawing outside attention to AECC's senior leadership; however, as of the time of search, no formal review and investigation announcement on Cao Jianguo by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and National Supervisory Commission had been seen, and the specific reasons have not been publicly explained by officials. Progress: media reports. Subject: Cao Jianguo (former chairman of Aero Engine Corporation of China). Scope: the former principal leader of AECC personally; no official review announcement seen.
