Iowa attorney general sues ADI Global Distribution over alleged China ties of surveillance cameras
Lawsuit filed
In October 2026, Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced a lawsuit against ADI Global Distribution, a distributor of surveillance cameras. The lawsuit alleges that the company hides that the surveillance cameras it distributes are made in China by two companies with ties to the Chinese military, and that the cameras make Iowans' private information available to the Chinese government and military. Nebraska filed a similar lawsuit late last year.
Stated objective. The deception needs to stop; companies aligned with China will be held accountable to Iowa’s law.
