Termination of McDonald's franchise partnership
McDonald's ended Abans' role as its Sri Lankan franchise partner after alleging poor-quality and unhygienic food service at local outlets. Approximately twelve outlets closed, and a court order later restricted Abans from using the McDonald's name or similar wording in promotions.
