    Copper-fittings cartel proceedings

The European Commission fined Aalberts more than €100 million in 2006 in proceedings concerning an alleged cartel for copper fittings. Aalberts denied involvement, appealed the decision and did not make a provision for the fine according to the supplied reference material. The company was acquitted in 2011, and the acquittal was ultimately confirmed after the Commission’s appeal in July 2013.
