The Niugini Television Network (NTN) was the first television station in Papua New Guinea. It was built and operated by the Australian regional television station NBN Television from Newcastle.[1] It operated for barely more than a year before shutting down; the launch of the channel was delayed several times due to government pressure.

Background to its foundation
The government of Papua New Guinea first considered having a television service in 1977.
