Hpnotiq (pronounced "hypnotic")[3] is a vodka-based blue-colored liqueur. The company is based in New York, but the product is produced and bottled in France by Heaven Hill Distilleries, made from fruit juices, vodka and cognac.[4] It is 34 proof (17% ABV)[5] and is available in over 70 countries.
History
Hpnotiq was created in 2001 by Raphael Yakoby, a college dropout living with his parents on Long Island, New York. After seeing a blue perfume at Bloomingdale's, he decided to create a blue liqueur.[6] Raphael Yakoby raised money to start the new company receiving $200,000 from his brother Solomon Yakoby who in return received a 50% ownership in the company.
