5W Public Relations disclosed that unauthorized access to its network between August 10 and August 14, 2021 allowed some files to be retrieved, including files containing employees’ personal information. The company said a limited number of current and former employees were affected and that it did not believe clients were compromised.

A 5W spokeswoman said the PR agency hired a cybersecurity firm and determined that a limited number of current as well as former employees were affected.
Remediation — 5W Public Relations
The letter stated that 5W was not aware of any reported cases of identify fraud based on the employee data and offered a free, one-year membership in a privacy protection service.
