Announced exit from Double 11 while retaining promotions, sparking reverse marketing controversy

In November 2020, NetEase Yanxuan announced it was withdrawing from the Double 11 battle that encouraged excessive consumption, but at the same time promised large year-round subsidies and retained promotional activities, prompting criticism from some consumers over its wording and marketing intent. Yicai and Securities Times reported assessments from both sides. This is a dispute over marketing expression and does not find that the promotional activities themselves were illegal.
