Mercedes-Benz recalls 9,765 vehicles in China over communication-module software issue

Mercedes-Benz China and Beijing Benz announced a recall of 9,765 imported and locally produced vehicles, scheduled to begin on March 26, 2020. A communication-module software problem could cause inaccurate vehicle positioning during emergency calls, potentially preventing rescue teams from being directed to the vehicle. 27日，国家市场监督管理总局发布公告称，奔驰（中国）、北京奔驰宣布自2020年3月26日起召回部分进口及国产汽车，共计9765辆。
本次范围内部分车辆由于紧急呼叫系统中用于沟通车辆位置的通信模块软件问题，造成从2019年11月4日起，根据GPS卫星数据确定的日期和时间可能与实际的日期和时间不同。由于这种偏差车辆的定位将被延迟或无法完成，当激活紧急呼叫系统时，由于车辆定位不准确可能无法将救援引导到车辆上，存在安全隐患。
