10 commercial vehicle makers recall 1,675 vehicles over safety standard defects
The State Administration for Market Regulation launched defect investigations into 10 commercial vehicle manufacturers and urged recalls, involving 56 models and 1,675 vehicles in total. The companies involved include Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle, Foton, Jiefang, JAC and Sinotruk affiliates; the defects include noncompliant protective devices, roof bars, reflective markings and departure reminders. Fatal mechanical injury leads to fine and multiple recalls
In 2017, a mechanical injury accident during maintenance work at the Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Frame Factory killed one person; in 2018, the Hubei emergency management department fined it 200,000 yuan. In 2025-2026, there were multiple recalls of KR series trucks (noncompliant protective devices and reflective markings), 15,104 Dongfeng-brand vehicles (insufficient cooling of the front lower protection assembly) and KC/KL battery electric vehicles.
