Paper figure data fabrication found to be academic misconduct, related personnel disciplined
On June 12, 2026, Shanghai University announced that an investigation confirmed data fabrication in one figure of a Nature Nanotechnology paper, involving co-first author postdoctoral researcher Zhou. The university terminated his employment, and due to the corresponding author's failure of oversight and management, removed Su from relevant dean and director positions, suspended admissions, and admonished two other teachers.
